Within the Darkness

cupped in the darkness of your hands
as cracks of light fade away
dragged across the depths of a demons soul
as pieces crumble away;
along each step of the way
likened unto chalk on the sidewalks
I slowly fall away with each stroke of his hands
until I am just minute grains of dust
that vanish within the sand

within my heart is held by your hands of stone
each mark of your angry hands
burnish and tarnish a love once so true
and each bruise your works
have left its trail of dark marks behind

as day by day passes my heart slows its beat
a little less strong; and a little more weak
it feels this burden more and more as on it runs
until it is broken beyond mere mortal repair
where it now lies in the dust of darkness, pain and despair

now I wait for the call of the night each day
so that I may hide away beyond the tenderness of light
my tears banked and held deep inside, behind near dry eyes
no longer praying my lips ran dry
from the hell I call my life of the damned
left isolated within the darkest pits of hell
as from deep inside I slowly swivel up and die
