If Only I Could

Archaeology, my love. my life, I chose this profession because it is my passion
Getting to go to ancient places, and find out things, that wasn't ever known before
So much history, searching for answers, after everything said and done
When I go on digs, I find things and that just makes me want more.

Now here I am in Egypt, standing in a place no on has been for thousands of years
Inside a tomb we find, one we never knew was here
Now here I am in a place of total reverence and respect, this is the feeling I get is very clear
I see a small hole, so I start to dig, then an inner chamber, we didn't know this was here.

I find totally in tact, a secret chamber, looks like it has two separate rooms
This person was one of royalty, looking around, I see a lot of treasures and a lot of gold
I see ancient tablets, containing yogis, this is a tomb, but I have to see what is in the next room
So the next room, an Egyptian sarcophagus I see, then I start to have a feeling of doom and gloom

Among all these riches, now I understand as I find a book of the dead
I have to open the book, my curiosity I must take a look
I can read yogis, so I start to read the incantations, the things said, after one passes over to the land of the dead
I'm reading something that should be said by the deceased, making me feel in a way like a crook.

I stand just in this royal place, totally in disbelief and awe,
A place in which royalty possibly walked and stood
And then I hear someone calling to me, it just can't be, things like this are against sanity's law
Then I see a figure, all in black, I need to get away, if only I could.
