In Memory
...............

A shadow walked
me to the place
hand-in-hand
in gentle pace

and never did
he show his face -
this hooded-figure
see?

My body did lay
in Death's icy grip
and no more will
I ever sip

the air that moved
across my lips
and to taste the
pleasure of life

A dark
finger pointed
toward my stone
No inscription of love,
I stood alone

Yet how is it so
that a man
could have lived
with such coldness
within my bones?

No answer
did I
ever receive

From that
hooded-shadow -
or the
whispering breeze

But continue
to point
continue,
he did...

as memories
of a life -
I once had -
now slid

from the grasp
of my mind
that held them
you see?

As I fell
on the grass
on bended knees

Dear shadow
how can it ever be
no memory upon
the stone of me?

Just two
words carved

{In Memory}

No gentle words
of deep
deep love

to guide me to
that realm above?

Oh shadow
I do now see
my life was
but a fallacy

of
self-importance -
filled with hate

and all love
I received
did dissipate

For loathing
and fear
did I get

and in
equal measure
I measured them
yet...

Now here
I stand
with you, alone

Hand-in-hand
The lament
I moan

is one of
deep sadness,
fear and regret

For the lives
I have ruined
I will never forget

Now my destination
is not off this land
Hooded shadow
hold my hand

For my
judgment is set
this cold, grim night

as we walk
in silence
in the ebony light

Although I tremble
and shiver
with fear

for what
lay ahead
is very near

Dear reader
my warning
is clear and true

no hope
for me -
much less
for you

If you do not -
in life -
show ultimate love

and compassion
that's sent
from Heaven above

No inscription
on your stone
there will be

And no memory
that you ever lived
see...?

Now to the
land of darkness
I am taken

And the
fires of Hell
are forever baking -
the damned

among which
you will be

screaming in
eternal agony...
like me

They are ones I know just like this
cold heartless and selfish
This so brings forth many thoughts to my mind.
