| Supposed to be a relaxing hike, but instead this is turning out to be a horror story We wanting to take a long walk in the woods, there was no intention that we got lost It is now starting to get dark, twilight, the shadows from the trees makes one just want to flee When we started this venture, I never dreamed of what we would have to pay, the cost The sun is going to bed, we can make out the black clouds, as they start to blanket the entire sky Almost winter, so the limbs of the trees are almost bare We did bring a flashlight, but what a small light, with this we will try and see, we will really try Soon there is the brilliance of lightning, and the loud rumble of thunder, I really start to think we are within the devil's lair. It seems the farther we walk, deeper within the woods we descend Searching for an escape, one which we wish would hurry up and come Soon darkness blankets us, our imagination runs rampant, this we did not intend Within the darkness, fear starts to fill our very being, for our mistake, we would end up paying a tremendous sum. I am so afraid, I know my mind is making see forms, that aren't really there At least I a not alone, but you are as scared as I am O. K. What is going on? I think I feel someone's eyes as at me they stare I feel so vulnerable, kind of like as meek as a lamb. Now it has started to rain, but the trees give us a little shelter, on this dark stormy night But we continue searching for a way out, a much needed escape The deeper within the woods we go, there is no sign of civilization in sight But soon we come across a sight, all I can do is stare with my mouth open, I guess you would call it gape. In one of the leafless trees, hanging off a limb, we see a noose Now I am afraid, as I try to imagine, what this may had been used for, as at it all I can do is stare Then right at the edge of the tree, we see bones, they are from someone that died here, I deduce I really want to get away from this place, which I call the devil's lair. | |
