| I just can't believe where you chose for us to go on vacation You know I an sensitive and yet you choose one of the most haunted places in the United States I wanted to go to a place to relax and have a little fun Why you chose Gettysburg is beyond me, but here many a man met an unholy fate. In this place, spirits are said to roam rampant, the remnants of over fifty thousand men When we arrive at the hotel, I start to feel the presence of others, of this there is no doubt How can you expect me to have fun, if all I feel is sadness, terror, and tears, this feeling so strong, it must be a sin All those that died here they were all Americans, some even died from the horses their living bodies did mount. You tell me you chose this place, because of the history here, you have always been a history buff Going to our room, it feels like a thousand eyes are watching me But of the supernatural I am not afraid, only the living I am afraid of, sometimes their wraith can be mighty rough I am fascinated by the dead, I'm kind of like a spirit detective, from the dead, I never flee. Our first night in this place steeped with the dead, so we get ready to retire We have had a long day, I'm really tired and very ready for bed So lying down, I try to go to sleep, but what I'm feeling, to bed I just can't retire Hearing strange noises, I just can't get the spirits out of my head. I go to the window, looking out, I hope to figure out the source of the strange sound Then what I witness and see, well for this I wasn't prepared I see hundreds of transparent entities, on what I consider to be hallowed ground They seem to be in a battle, leaving me the belief, the call of death, these poor souls are unable to hear. The next morning, I journey to the field where the ghostly battle I witnessed occurred Walking in this field of wild flowers and grass, I can see no evidence of what I saw On this hallowed ground, I was hand picked by fate to witness what actually occurred I saw the spirits, of those young men, that so violently died here, until they find the place they should be, these spirits will forever stir. | |
