Ghost

Walk through the forest, hear the breeze
Listen, branches groaning, rustling leaves
Shadows dancing, on moss covered ground
Don't look back, don't turn round

What's that you hear, a scuffling of feet
Or frantic thumps, from your heartbeat
Misty breath, hanging in the air
From bushes, eyes that stare

I'm at your back, I'm your host
Am I you or your ghost
Pick up the pace, try to move fast
As you try, to escape your past

Or is it your future, passions desire
As you try to flee, demons fire
The beast within, screaming out
Wanting free, hear it shout

Closer now, I see your face
Frightened, as you try to race
Banshees dancing, all around
A new life has been found

Sweating now in pale moonlight
Darkened forces, you try to fight
Eyes open wide, as up you sit
Nightmare over, or..... is it
