Cast Away

into the darkness falls;
another broken battered soul
lost as light slowly fades
beyond the gray into the black abyss
where no warmth or love every grows
hearts beaten to the point of never more
trust no longer knowing if its even there
sadness spreading like a flood
lips tremble, eyes pool
cast away no joy left; just hell to pay
left battered bruised and in pain
curled up praying no more days
