rip away the layers to my broken soul
the thick wall I built
trying and keep me whole
the flaky covering that makes me seem tough
tender heart bruised and battered
left beyond recognition
do you feel the tears drip
as my shattered soul bleeds
gasping to breathe
hoping to die
facing a lifetime of pain
and praying for goodbye
